Photo Restoration, Photo Retouching, and Photo Reproduction Restoration Services

In our studio we scan your original photo and then resize it to the desired dimensions. We do not alter the original in any way. We create a new and improved version by making some or all of the following enhancements as requested:

     1. Cropping the image
     2. Color correction and adjustment
     3. Increase or decrease the color saturation of parts of the image
     4. Sharpening all or part of an image
     5. Removing unnecessary objects
     6. Digital plastic surgery on portrait faces -- removing the effects of aging
     7. Altering parts of the body such as slimming down waists and thighs, enlarging breasts, etc.
     8. Cleaning up scratches and spots
     9. Lightening shadowed areas of an image
     10. Repairing blown-out or overexposed parts of an image
     11. Improving or increasing the overall tonal contrast of the photograph
 

Digital Editing Only: For those who already have a high quality scanned image of the original photo, you can email the image to us in jpeg file format. We will enhance it and email it back to you for a reduced charge of $25.00. Alternatively, you may burn your images on a CD and mail them to us at the address at the bottom of this page. This service does not include prints.

Special Service for Frustrated Brides
Wedding Photo Retouching

If you have some images from your wedding photos in digital format that you are not happy with, send them to us to fix. You can email us your images at croton@warwick.net, or you can mail us your CD or DVD to Croton Stamp Co., PO Box 242, Goshen, NY 10924. Let us know what you don't like about them and what you want changed. We will send you back the retouched images in digital format (along with your CD). Cost is $25.00 each for one to four images, or $22.00 each for five or more images.

A Note About Return Shipping

We return your original photo along with the enhanced version and any additional copies by First Class Mail from the U.S. Postal Service.  If you want your photos returned to you by Registered Mail rather than First Class Mail, please add $11.00.

 Click on the 'Service Form' button below. Print out a copy and complete the simple information required. Then mail us your photograph(s) carefully packaged to: Croton Stamp Co., PO Box 242, Goshen, NY 10924 together with your check made payable to Croton Stamp Co. or credit card information as indicated on the form. Be sure to include your correct email address. Your original photo together with the enhanced photo and any additional copies  will be mailed back to you  usually within one week.

Below are some 'before' and 'after' examples of our photo enhancement work.

This photo had major damage done to it. We repaired the damage, pushed up the contrast, added some highlights, enhanced the eyes, and applied a sepia tone.

This is a great photo, but it has a color cast and the
shadows obscure too much detail. These problems
were corrected, the eyes were enhanced, highlights
were added where appropriate, and selective
sharpening was performed.

This once beautiful photo had been torn into four pieces.
There was an obvious vertical tear and a less obvious horizontal tear. It was then put back together carefully with scotch tape. We eliminated the tear and tape marks, corrected the pink color cast, lightened the tonality, and then selectively sharpened and blurred different areas of the photo to emphasize the bride. The 'after' version is below.

The real challenge with this photo was correcting
the stains. We also corrected for tonality and
selectively sharpened the image.

This was a very old family photo that needed a lot of work. Besides fixing the scratches and creases, we had to extend the photo at top and bottom to create a 5 x 7 format (the dimensions of the original were in a  5 x 6 ratio). We enhanced the lights and the darks, fixed multiple problems, and did some selective sharpening.

This photo needed extensive help. The left side of the photo had a large horizontal tear as well as severe water damage. The subject's right side had to be reconstructed, including his right ear as well as the center part of his face. We then did a full colorization. Colorization of a comparable photo would normally cost approximately $100 because of the considerable labor involved. Colorization is not included in the $29.95 package.
